I am a Ph.D. graduate from the National University of Singapore (NUS). My research interests lie at the intersection of generative AI and sound design. I am passionate about bridging the gap between arts and technology by designing intelligent interactive tools for creativity. During my PhD I was advised by Dr. Suranga Nanayakkara, Dr. Kokil Jaidka, and Dr. Lonce Wyse.

Before NUS, I worked in the industry for ~15 years in various roles. I helped build and architect solutions for various financial institutions, such as Credit Suisse and Lehman Brothers, and consulting organizations, such as Capgemini and Oliver Wyman.

I believe that we all need to do more to improve gender diversity in tech. I co-founded the Women Who Code network in Singapore in 2016 and led the network in the city as a Director until 2020. I was also involved in building developer communities for YOW! Conferences in the city.

RECENT HIGHLIGHTS

  June 2025   Stoked to be the recipient for the SPH Media Award for the Top Graduate in Research Programmes at the National University of Singapore!

  April 2025   I was at ICASSP 2025 in Hyderabad presenting my paper ‘MorphFader: Enabling Fine-grained Controllable Morphing with Text-to-Audio Models’.

  January 2025   I joined NVIDIA as a Senior Solutions Architect. Go Team Green!

  December 2024   Our paper ‘MorphFader: Enabling Fine-grained Controllable Morphing with Text-to-Audio Models’ is accepted for publication at ICASSP 2025!

  November 2024   I presented my research on Generative AI for Sound Design to the amazing and awe-inspiring audio AI folks at Bang & Olufsen.

  October 2024   I successfully defended my Ph.D. thesis ‘Designing & Evaluating Interactive Generative Audio Models for Sound Design’!

  September 2024   I presented my PhD research at a Hearing Seminar at CCRMA at Stanford University!

  April 2024   Our paper ‘Example-Based Framework for Perceptually Guided Audio Texture Generation’ is accepted for publication at IEEE TASLP (IEEE/ACM Transactions on Audio, Speech, and Language Processing)!

  January 2024   Our paper ‘Sound Designer-Generative AI Interactions: Towards Designing Creative Support Tools for Professional Sound Designers’ is accepted for publication at CHI 2024!

  January 2024   Grateful to have received a ‘Special Recognition for Outstanding Reviews’ for my review of a paper at CHI 2024!

  June 2023   Happy to report that we were placed 3rd (rank) in the DCASE Task 7 Foley Sound Synthesis Challenge!
